Mastram is an Indian erotic drama web series in Hindi. It premiered on MX Player on April 30, 2020. It is a 10-episodic erotica with the backdrop setting of the 1980s. However, after the introduction of new OTT Platform Rules by the Indian government in 2021, this web series is no longer available on MX Player due to its adult content. Its story revolves around a novelist, Rajaram, who uses Mastram as his alias to write erotic novels.

Rajaram is a budding writer of the 1980s who lives in a remote valley. He writes a story, and the editor dismisses it as boring. Frustrated, Rajaram meets his friend, who takes him to a shady theatre to watch soft porn. Rajaram is disgusted by this experience, but his friend tells him that the public likes this. After thinking about his past ordeals, Rajaram decides to write erotic stories. He catches a bus to go home. There, he meets his first character, Rani. She tried to seduce and flirt with him the same morning. So, when she enters the bus, he plots a story named “Khali Bus Ka Suhana Safar.”

He imagines no one on the bus except him, Rani, the driver, and the conductor. Hence, they take advantage of the situation. They have sex and enjoy it to its fullest extent. The editor agrees to print this story and gives him money. Now, Rajaram starts searching for his next character. He also fell in love with a college girl named Madhu. After that, Rajaram reminisces about his school life. He confessed to his friend that he had sex with his hot teacher, Rita. He also got beaten by a stick (danda) for doing the deed. This incident inspired him to write his next story, “Master Ji Ka Danda.”

Meanwhile, he is all set to marry Madhu. However, his maternal uncle causes mischief, and the marriage gets canceled. Rajaram writes his third story- “Mallu Aunty Ka Malmal”- inspired by his neighbor’s sex life. The same night, he clarifies everything to Madhu, who agrees to marry him. He started handling his erotic stories and love life nicely. An actress named Indulekha recognizes his true identity as the writer Mastram when he meets her as a fan and Mastram’s friend. She keeps a condition to keep his identity a secret. Rajaram agrees to her condition, and they shake hands. However, a photographer takes a picture of their interaction and publishes it in a newspaper. It causes many problems in his personal and love life. 

Madhu’s friends suggest she test Rajaram’s loyalty. Madhu sends him to the house of her friend. There, both of her friends try to seduce him, but he leaves with an erotic story and new characters in his mind. The friend informs Madhu about his good character, making her feel guilty towards Rajaram. Meanwhile, Rajaram meets his friend, who is searching for him. He was aware of the plan made by Madhu and her friends and was looking for Rajaram to reveal everything. Rajaram becomes upset and tries to break up with Madhu for good. However, they both realize their mistakes and reconcile. 

On the other hand, a producer from Mumbai decides to meet the first three characters of Mastram and approaches the editor. So, the editor forces Rajaram to write for the producer as Mastram and meet him in Mumbai. Rajaram departs for Mumbai with Madhu and a few of his relatives. While entering his compartment, he observes a female ticket checker. His ticket had some date issue, and the lady TC asked him to come to her cabin to get a new ticket after the correction.

In this way, Rajaram gets his next character and story. He finishes his story but forgets to hide the pages due to exhaustion. Madhu woke up at midnight and started checking those pages out of curiosity. The series ends when she finally realizes that Rajaram is none other than the writer Mastram himself.  Anshuman Jha played the titular role of Mastram or Rajaram, and Tara Alisha Berry became Madhu in this series.
