The story follows the lives of Muthu, Rukmini, and Bhama. Muthu has been portrayed as a rich looking boy who is dumb. Muthu is a very simple-hearted and innocent boy. The character of Muthu has been portrayed by Mruthyunjaya. His character is extremely special, which sets him apart from the rest of the boys of his age.
Bhama is a mentally retarded girl who has a lot of difficulty leading a simple life. She has a sister named Rukmini. Rukmini is a teacher and as the story line progresses becomes Muthu’s tutor. As she helps Muthu, she realizes how difficult life actually is for Muthu. Muthu has stepbrothers named Marthanda and Bhairaba, who constantly keep picking on Mathu because he is slow. The stepbrothers start picking on Bhama as well and Muthu protects her from them. The plotline for the show goes through a lot of twists and turns as the story progresses.
Muthu’s life is completely changed by the arrival of Bhama and Rukmini in his life. The sensitive subject that has been handled in the show is what makes it so different from any other show which is currently being aired on TV. The trials and lives of the specially-abled and how they are picked on in society for not fitting in is the crux of this series. How Mathu and Bhama overcome their situation with the help of Rukmini and face life is a story worth telling.
