Rani is an Urdu-language TV serial from Pakistan that was aired on PTV in 2008 and is now available to watch on its official YouTube channel. The show was commonly regarded as being ahead of its time.Â
The show is about a woman who rises from a political position to being a commoner. Soon after this, she realizes the level of patriarchy that has been established over decades and tries to make it into a cabal of patriarchs to bring upon change. This leads to a journey of empowerment and courage.Â
