Dr. Pompi Paul is an Actor, Choreographer, and Odissi dancer. She was born in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal. Early in life, she studied Kathak, and then under the supervision of Guru Poushali Mukherjee, she began studying Odissi. She holds a Ph.D. in Odissi from Rabindra Bharati University and has participated in prestigious national dance events including the Swami Haridas Sammelan and Uday Shankar Dance Festival. In Jalpaiguri, she manages her dance school, “Kalpodip - A Tune of Indian Classical Dance”, which she founded in 2008.
Kalpodip promotes awareness of our rich culture among the younger generations while preserving the spirit of Indian classical dance and music. Since 2012, she has also been in charge of planning the festival Kalpodip Utsav. She now holds a position as a dance instructor at the ICCR Bali in Indonesia. Pompi Paul is famed for the movies Aahuti (2019) and Anandadhara Reloaded (2017).
