Aditi Munshi, born in 1989, is an Indian singer and politician hailing from West Bengal. Her mother, Mrs Mitali Munshi always had a passion for music, and her father Mr Manindra Munshi, although a businessman, also shared her deep love for the world of music. Aditi was exposed to an environment of music right from the beginning. Drawing inspiration from her mother, Mitali- her first-ever music teacher, Aditi did a brilliant job of managing her studies alongside her singing. She also took up painting as a means of self-expression, being encouraged by her father, Manindra. Aditi was introduced to the realm of Kirtan, a specific type of spiritual music within the more significant discourse of Indian music, while in high school, alongside previously recognized genres like Rabindra sangeet and Nazeulgeeti.

Her interest in the art form deepened throughout her graduating days when she obtained a scholarship to study in the Department of Music of the widely respected Rabindra Bharati University. She was subsequently awarded another scholarship by the West Bengal government to study 'Padaboli Kirtan' at the post-graduate level. Aditi studied classical music with Shree Snehasish Chatterjee and afterward with Shree Subhrakanti Chatterjee. Aditi also developed a strong sense of rhythm under the guidance of Shree Dhruba Basu Biswas and Shree Gautam Bhattacharyya. Her academics did not stop her from winning laurels simultaneously.

The then-Governor, Mr M. K. Narayan, congratulated Aditi on finishing second in the All-India Merit Exam. She was appointed as a full-time music artist at India Radio, Kolkata, in 2012. When Aditi took part in Zee Bangla's Sa Re Ga Ma Pa in 2015, she got the fame she had not known before. She won the 2021 West Bengal assembly election as the candidate of the All-India Trinamool Congress. Aditi has successfully brought out Kirtan from its designated place in the spiritual world.
