Bhaswati Chakraborty is an Indian singer who was born on August 1, 1973, in Malda, West Bengal, India, and lives in Patna, Bihar, India. Bhaswati Chakraborty's father's name is Amalendu Chatterjee, who was a school teacher, and Bhaswati Chakraborty's mother's name is Rekha Chatterjee. Bhaswati Chakraborty studied her schooling at Shahpur High School in Malda, and she studied for her graduation at Malda Women's College. She has taken a course in music at Rabindra Bharti University, Kolkata. She initially learned music from Guru Mahendra Prasad and learned Indian classical music Talim from Pt. She received the HMV Golden Awards for Hindustani Classical and Light Classical Vocalist in 1993. She was also awarded for her contribution to Indian classical music by Mr Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, and she is a member of the Regional Selection Committee in the Center for Cultural Resources and Training at the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
