Arun Chakraborty is a famous Bengali actor and poet. He worked in many films and TV series. Apart from this, the poem Lal Paharir Deshe Ja, written by him, is also very famous all over the world. This poem by Arun is based on Bengali folk music. He wrote this poem after seeing a leafless Mahua tree. He used the tribal dialect in it. He completed his engineering studies in Bengal and also received training for it. He started his acting career by working in films. The names of some of his movies are Picnic (2014), Deewana (2013), Checkmate (2012), Lakshyabhed (2009), Byatikrami (2003), and Chandaneer (1989).
