Kid Cudi is a stage name of American actor and singer Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi. He got his stage name ‘Kid Cudi’ after the release of his first 'mixtape' or a home-made compilation of music “A Kid Named Cudi” (2008). Upon release of the mixtape, the singer got the attention of the hip-hop recording artist, songwriter, record producer Kanye Omari West. Karney had founded GOOD Music, a record label and management company that would go on to house many upcoming artistes and Karney signed Kid Cudi for his company in late 2008.

This was path breaking opportunity for Kid Cudi and he continued with him for long. Later on, Cudi launched his own record labels imprints like 'Dream On' and 'Wicked Awesome Record' and grew up as a singer, song writer, recordist, video editor etc. “Day 'n' Nite" was debut song by American hip hop recording artist Kid Cudi. The album got released as a single song album on February 5, 2008.

The single was based on his 'mixtape' version and could climb the position of five of the Billboard charts. Soon the singer brought out his studio album “Man on the Moon: The End of Day” and had contained three singles –"Day 'n' Nite", "Make Her Say" and "Pursuit of Happiness" which attained chart success. This album fetched ‘Gold’ certificate for higher sales of records by the Recording Industry Association of America. Soon, the singer brought out another album “Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager” which scaled at number 3 position on the US Billboard 200, selling 169,000 copies during its first week of release. The album was released on November 9, 2010, by GOOD Music and Universal Motown. Till 2015, Cudi released five solo albums.

When Cudi's newly found label imprint, 'Wicked Awesome Records' was launched, he came out with “WZRD” which was released on February 28, 2012. He collaborated with his trusted American record producer and mixing engineer Dot da Genius, from Brooklyn who was earlier involved in "Day n Nite'. Both Kid Cudi and Dot da Genius formed their own band "WZRD".
