David Lazenberg is a French director of photography who has added aestheticism to numerous movies, TV shows, music videos and commercials. He was born in the French capital of Paris in a family with artistic background. His father is an art dealer while his mother is an artist and filmmaker, having contributed to documentaries on political leaders, including Abbie Hoffman and Francisco Franco. His brother, Christophe Lazenberg, is also a cinematographer with whom he shot the scenes for the documentary “Madonna’s Truth or Dare” (1991). David began his career as an assistant cameraman, working under some of the best cinematographers of all time such as Christopher Soos, Checo Varese, Philippe Rouselot, and Aaron Schneider. He was a critical asset to the shooting of Tim Burton’s “Planet of the Apes” (2001) and Kurt Voelker’s “Park” (2006).

He rose to the rank of cinematographer and over the last decade has been involved in major movies as well as TV entertainment projects. He worked closely with American singer-songwriter Lenny Kravitz, recording the documentary “Lenny Kravitz: Minister of Rock n’ Roll” along with the super hits “Where Are We Runnin’” and “Calling all Angels.” He was also a part of Kravitz’s South American Tour with a skeleton crew in 2004. He was the man behind the lens for Fort Minor’s “Where’d You Go” (2006) and Akon’s “Don’t Matter” (2007). His first two feature films as a DOP were Lee Toland Krieger’s films: “Celeste & Jesse Forever” (2012) and “The Age of Adaline” (2015), starring Blake Lively.
