It is a very rare coincidence where a comedian is born to a politically inclined family. To make it more precise, he was the son of two professors in well-known universities. But he had a stable desire to be a comedian till he grew up. He is Dave Chappelle.

David Khari Webber Chappelle, famously known to the screen as Dave Chappelle, was born on August 24, 1973, in Washington DC, USA. He is the youngest of the three children to William David Chappelle III and Yvonne. His father worked as a professor at Antioch College, and his mother is also a professor at Howard University. He completed his elementary education at Woodlin Elementary School. He graduated in theater arts from Duke Ellington School of Arts, Washington. He had a passion for acting and especially comedy, from his childhood. He got incredible inspiration from Eddie Murphy Eddie Murphy is a well-known American actor, comed >> Read More... and Richard Pryor, which made him go on till he reached his goal. As his parents separated, he used to spend his summers with his father in Ohio and winters with his mom at Washington.

Dave Chappelle had to face many difficulties while proving his talent as an actor and comedian. At the very first attempt at Apollo Theater, he had a bitter experience where people didn't accept his comedy. But he left with an experience and tried constantly. He even portrayed his comic skills in city parks and night clubs. After his comedy became famous and gained maturity, he got a nickname from Whoopi Goldberg, the famous comedian, and actress of that time.

Dave Chappelle tried his hand at acting in films. One can see him in the role of Ahchoo in Mel Brooks’ directed adventurous movie, Robin Hood: Men In Tights. Though it got mixed reviews, Dave Chappelle managed to taste success with his acting. He appeared in some minor and guest roles, which gave mixed reviews. In Doug Liman’s directed Getting In, he took the role of Ron. Then, he also played roles in TV series like Home Improvement, ‘Buddies’, etc. The fact that none of his shows were getting good reviews made him very disappointed. And his father died then, which made him decide to leave the industry. But fortunately, he didn't.

Dave Chappelle came back and this time, he tasted only success. The Nutty Professor, in 1996, received many positive reviews. In 2003, he started his show, Chappelle's Show, which was a big hit, and he got many contracts to extend his comedy show for the next two years. He toured all over the world and got a huge fan base. He is good at charity work too. He extends his support to Seeds of Peace International Camp. His wife is Elaine Mendoza Erfe, and they have two sons and one daughter.
