Simon Doull’s full name is Simon Blair Doull. He is a former international cricketer, commentator, and New Zealand radio personality. He was born on the 6th of August in the year 1969 in the city of Pukekohe, New Zealand. Wellington player from the late 1990s, Lincoln Doull, is the elder brother of Simon and helped him with his breakthrough in sports. This inclination for sports by both the siblings induced a sports-friendly aura during Simon’s childhood, hence, giving him a platform to grow. He initially played for Wellington and Northern Districts of New Zealand. Simon was a right arm bowler with a medium pace swing.

He has played 42 One Day Internationals and 32 Test Series. He used to play for his country’s team, that is, New Zealand National Cricket Team. In the year 1998, Doull got his best bowling figures against India in a Boxing Test Match at the Basin Reserve in Wellington. During this performance, he reached his highest ranking in his career of 6 in the 1998’s ICC Player Rankings. Simon’s career started going downhill from the year 1999. He suffered obstinate injuries throughout his career. He had persistent back problems and a much hyped, career-threatening knee injury which took place during his bout in England whilst New Zealand’s 1999 tour. This led to a premature end to his career.

After playing for a season in Netherlands, he tried for a comeback on the national team in the years 2002-03. In his personal life, Simon is extremely passionate about wine, food and traveling. He can be seen on the show called “Discover Auckland with Simon Doull: Food and Wine.” He has been actively involved in doing shoots and introducing the audiences to newer avenues. He has revealed that he is extremely passionate about these topics and hence, loves to do shows and promotional shoots for such events. Furthermore, Simon loves to pursue new horizons. Hence, he has also got into a boxing ring with his former colleague Chris Cairns.

However, he has stated that one experience was enough and he is not interested in getting into the boxing ring again. Simon Doull made the news when he was trapped in a controversy which revealed the news of him leaving his five-month pregnant wife Karen Doull for his alleged girlfriend, the glamorous widow of Possum Bourne. Presently, Doull can be seen working as a commentator for cricket sport on New Zealand’s SKY Sports. He has also worked at the New Zealand’s radio station called The Rock where he was a part of the Morning Rumble team.
