Guy Ritchie is a renowned English director who is well-known for his crime movies. He was born in a small town Hatfield, Hertfordshire. He was the second child of Amber Ritchie and Captain John Vivian Ritchie, former Seaforth Highlanders and Advertising Executive. Ritchie was expelled from Stanbridge Earls School at the age of 15. It was stated that drug abuse was the reason because of which he was expelled from the school. But his father mentioned that he was found cutting class and ‘entertaining a girl’ in his room. Ritchie is also a patient suffering from dyslexia.

In 1995, Ritchie made his first 20 min short film, ‘The Hard Case’, which was critically acclaimed by a lot of people. Later in 1998, with help from some of his friends and their connections, Ritchie decided to make a feature film.Trudie Styler, a mutual acquaintance, decided to invest in his film as he had seen The Hard Case and thought it was worth a shot. In the span of eight months, the production of the film ‘Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels’ was finished. It was released in the same year, and it received a lot of critical acclaims.

In 2000, Ritchie was given the Edgar Award by the Mystery Writers of America for this film. The film was a critical success and grossed over $520 million worldwide. He was married to Madonna in the year 2000 and the marriage lasted for only eight years as in 2008 they both filed for a divorce. Guy Ritchie has a son with Madonna, Rocco John Ritchie and later they had adopted a Malawian baby boy David. On 30 July 2015, Richie married model Jacqui Ainsley, and the couple has three children together.

Guy Ritchie is a prominent English filmmaker.

He was born in Hertfordshire on 10 September 1968 to John and Amber Ritchie. He dropped out of school at the age of 15 in the year 1995. He never joined any film school because he felt that their work was boring.

He started his career by directing music promos. He used the profits to make a twenty-minute short film The Hard Case (1995). This film convinced his investors to pool in money for Ritchie’s directorial venture Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998). The film generated positive reviews and is now considered by many as a classic cult film in the crime comedy genre.
