Born in Paris, France, on February 1, 1983, Marilou Berry is a French director, screenwriter and performing artist. She is a daughter of Philippe Berry, a sculptor and Josiane Balasko, a director and actress. She is likewise the niece of performer Richard Berry and the cousin of on-screen character Josephine Berry.

Berry went to Condorcet High School and Bilingual International School. She appeared in a drama named My Life Is A Hell coordinated by her mother Josiane Balasko, in which she acts with Richard Berry, her uncle.
