Arun Thapar

Arun Thapar is an English Host in the Indian Television Network Series. He was born and lived in New Delhi, India. He is a very renowned personality in the industry, and it was his efforts that lead him to his successful career.

He did his schooling from Birla Public School situated in Vidya Niketan, South Delhi from 1984 to 1990. He opted for commerce in the 11th grade. Later he completed his graduation in the year 1990-1993 from Sri Venkateswara College and did BA Hons. in History. When he was in college, he participated in many extra-curricular activities and was a part of Fine Arts Society, music and Dramatics Society called Anubhooti. Later he did his masters in History from JNU, New Delhi in 1993-1995. He also participated in many sports activities like Volleyball when he was doing his masters.

He is currently a Television professional and has more than 21 years of experience in strategy, content curation, management, and creation. He has also done work where he needs to manage people who did their specialization in functions such as operations, programming, productions, on-air promotions, localization, development for broadcast i.e. lifestyle, factual and family entertainment.

Mr. Arun Thapar also acted as a presenter, writer, and producer for the various range of programs which includes live broadcast, music, lifestyle, comedy, animation, current affairs, natural history, factual entertainment, and animation. He also received an opportunity to work with notable International brands and content providers, production partners, etc. From February 1996, he started working for NDTV as a Senior producer, writer, director, and presenter. He worked on this post for about sixteen years. Afterward, he got promoted as a VP programming and program presenter in NDTV India from 2007 to 2011.

His main work is to develop and create contents and format for lifestyle television which also includes advertiser funded programming, to generate and find new sources of revenue and grab opportunities for brand integrations through Programming innovation. He also collaborated with NDTV marketing team, he acted as an advisory person for media promotion and strategy and many more. After that from April 2011 onwards, he started working with Discovery Network Asia Pacific as a Vice President in programming and handled head content and creative work and much more.

From August 2016 he joined A+E Networks as an Executive Vice President and Head of Content. He is currently residing in Mumbai. Mr. Arun Thapar is very dedicated and hardworking towards his work.
