Bill Irwin is an actor and comedian from America.

He was born on the 11th of April, 1950. His choice of career was very different. He studied at the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Clown College to earn his livelihood as a clown. Later, he assisted in the founding of the Pickle Family Circus in San Francisco, which he eventually left to act.

He has created numerous plays in which he amalgamated various clown elements that he learned in Clown College. He made these together with writer, composer and performer Doug Skinner’s assistance. Some of the plays are The Regard of Flight, Fool Moon, Largely New York and Harlequin studies. He was the playwright of Mr. Fox: A Rumination, which was a biography of actor and dancer, Washington Fox. “Old Hats” was a stage show, which won the Drama Desk Award in 2013 for Outstanding Revue. ‘Scapin’ was a play he wrote, which derived from one of the French playwright Moliere’s stage show. He casted himself in the lead role several times. He also directed A Flea in Her Ear.

He bagged the lead role in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, as a character named George. Kathleen Turner was his co-star. Waiting for Godot, Bye Bye Birdie and King Lear were some other plays in which he worked as an actor.
