Christian Meier

He is a Peruvian soap opera actor, model, and singer who is famous throughout the US Hispanic market, Latin America, and around the Spanish-speaking world. He is famous for his Latin rock type songs like ‘Novia de Nadie’ and ‘Reparto Otra Vez.’ He has also acted in movies including ‘Mar de Fondo’ and ‘Magallanes.’ Born in Lima, Peru, he was the youngest of the four children of Gladys Zender and Antonio Meier. He was raised along with his elder brother and two sisters. He went to the Miraflores Maristas School. After finishing his high school, he went to college and graduated in graphic designing. His mother was a former Miss Peru, and she also won Miss Universe in 1957. His father was a successful businessman and later became the mayor of the Lima district of San Isidro. He learned to play the piano at the age of 12. This created an interest towards music and from thereon he never turned back. He joined ‘Arena Hash,’ a popular Peruvian rock-band at the age of 17. He used to play keyboard and did some singing also but after few years, his band broke up as the other members began to pursue a solo career. He decided to try his luck in acting field and appeared in 1994 primetime soap opera ‘El Angel Vengador: Caligula’ doing a cameo of four minutes.

He played a key role in another soap opera ‘Gorrion.’ In this show, he met his future wife, Marisol Aguirre. In 1996, he launched his first music album named ‘I don’t remember who I was.’ Songs of this album topped the radio station charts of Peru and the album sold so many copies throughout the nation that it was kept in the double platinum category. Along with singing, he was simultaneously acting in the soap opera ‘Obsesion’ starring Gianella Neyra and Diego Bertie. In 1997, he started working on his second album with a well-known music producer Manuel Garrido-Lecca. In 2002, he produced ‘Ones Noches,’ the musical album which brought him to a larger audience and gave him the much-anticipated Fame. His success in movies, music albums and soap opera, made him famous in Latin America and Spanish-speaking countries. He got married to his ‘Gorrion’ co-star Marisol Aguirre in 1995. Together, they had three children. A son named Stefano and two daughters, Tiara and Gia. They separated in 2007 and filed for divorce. He admits that he was in a relationship with an American actress named Genesis Rodriguez. He has also launched a brand of perfumes.
