Cole Kenneth Hauser is a versatile American TV and movie star. He was born to Cass Warner and Wings Hauser in
Santa Barbara, California, United States. Her mother Cass Warner was the founder of Warner Sisters- a film production company. His father Wings Hauser is also an American actor. Wings Hauser and Cass got separated afterwards. Cole’s paternal grandfather was a renowned Academy Award winner screenwriter Dwight Hauser. His maternal great-grandfather was the founding partner of Warner Bros., famous film tycoon Harry Warner. His maternal grandfather Milton Sperling was a film producer and a screenwriter in Hollywood. Cole’s maternal grandmother Betty Mae Warner was a painter, sculptor, a gallery owner, and a political activist. He is also the nephew of Erich Hauser- an actor. With most of his family involved in Film Industry, his interest in acting was inherent. Cole’s father is the successor of Irish and German whereas his mother belongs to Ashkenazi Jewish family.
Others in his family include his step-mother, also an actress, Cali Lili Hauser and his half-sister Bright Hauser. He is also the grandson of a former Los Angeles Police Commissioner. Cole has three siblings: sister Tao and Vanessa and a Brother Jesse. He interest in acting arose during his high school. He once performed a lead role in the play ‘Dark of the Moon’ during a talent summer camp. Cole was awarded standing ovations for his act. He decides to leave high school and try his hand at acting at the age of sixteen. He has an impressive line up of movies and television shows he has starred in. His debut was in the early 1990s with a small role in the film- School Ties. After this, he went on doing films like Dazed and Confused, Higher Learning, Skins, Frame-Up II: The Cover-Up, All Over Me, Good Will Hunting, Scotch and Milk, and The Hi-Lo Country in the ‘90s.
He did only two television shows in the ‘90s which were A Matter of Justice (1993) and High Incident (1996). In the 21st century, he was seen in motion pictures such as Pitch Black, A Shot at Glory, Tigerland, Hart’s War, White Oleander, Tears of the Sun, Fast and Furious (role of a mob boss), Paparazzi, The Cave, Dirty, The Break-Up, The Stone Angel, Tortured,
The Family that Preys, Like Dandelion Dust, and Shadows of the White Nights. During this time, he also starred in the following television series- ER (2004), Damages (2006), K-Ville (2007-08),
The Tower (2008), The Washington Field (2009), and Chase (2010). His recent works include films like
The Hit List, Assassins Run, A Good Day to Die Hard,
Olympus Has Fallen, Transcendence, and Jarhead 2: Field of Fire. And his recent acts in television are Rogue and The Lizzie Borden Chronicles. Cole has also voiced the character of William J. Johns in a prequel video game of the 2000 movie Pitch Black. He received Young Hollywood Award for Breakthrough Performance Male in 2003. Cole is married to Cynthia Daniel- a photographer and has three kids (Sons- Ryland and Colt; Daughter- Steely Rose). Cynthia has also performed as Elizabeth Wakefield in the Sweet Valley High TV series. This TV show was the adaption of the novel of Francine Pascal.
