Dato Bakhtadze

Dato Bakhtadze is a Russian actor who has made his mark in both Russian film industry and as well as Hollywood. He was born in Tbilisi (Georgia), which was USSR back in the time. Born on May 20^th, 1966, Dato has acted in some of the famous movies with big billed actors. He has not been known to act in the lead in big banners but is seen in the supporting roles in most of his movies.

Dato’s Russian career is not great enough to write home about. He was seen playing some supporting characters in comedy movies as well as some other movies. Some of his Russian movies “Yolki” which is also a trilogy have Dato in a lead role. Quite unclear about its box office successes, but the movie series did have enough investment to make a trilogy. Yolki was not a big budget movie certainly. Its sequels released as Yolki 2 which was released in 2011, and then in 2013 Yolki 3 was released.

In 2016, the latest installment of “Yolki 1914” was released. Dato plays General Tarkhan in the movie. The movie has actors like ‘Leonid Arkhangelskiy’, ‘Anton Bogdanov’, and ‘Evan Bred’. The movie Yolki 1914 revolves around several stories which took place in the year 1914 during the New Years’ Eve. The trilogy belongs to comedy genre and has Dato in the lead. He has also appeared in the Russian movie Chernaya Molniya playing Bakhram in it, which released in 2009.

Dato has appeared in several English television shows as a guest. He is mostly seen playing Russian in the shows. Dato was also part of a show called The Lax. The show which ran for only a few episodes has him play a foreign passenger, and he stuck with the show for a few episodes. 

Dato’s career in English movies starts with him playing Lucien in 2005 movie “Crash”. The film Crash is produced and directed by ‘Paul Haggis’. The movie was inspired by real-life incidents and it is a drama which focuses on the social and racial tension in Los Angeles. In 2009, the movie Irene in Time was released which had not so great rating, and success also has Dato starring in it as Max. Dato’s last known major project was the movie “ The Darkest Hour Click to look into! >> Read More... ” released in 2011. He plays the role of Sergei in the movie. His next expected movie in Hollywood is Ben-Hur where he plays Hortator in the movie and it is said to release in 2016.
