He is famous for his roles in T.V. series such as ‘The Young and the Restless’, ‘Knight Rider’ and ‘ Baywatch.’ He also holds many Guinness World Records to his name. Born to Dolores Therese and Joseph Vincent Hasselhoff, he was raised in Florida. Later his family moved to Georgia where he attended Marist High School. His mother was a housewife, and his father was a business executive. He graduated from Lyons Township High School in Illinois in 1970. Later, he graduated with a degree in theater from the California Institute of the Arts. He debuted when he was seven in Peter Pan and ever since his only dream was to make a career on Broadway stage shows. He debuted in the T.V. shows from the ‘The Young and the Restless’ where he played the role of Dr. Snapper Foster. While playing his role in this show, he also appeared on other shows in guest appearances. He started singing in the children’s program called ‘Kids Incorporated.’ His big break came in 1982 when he was offered the lead role of Michael Knight in the NBC’s hit series ‘Knight Rider.’ The show got popular, and he became a huge success overseas.

It helped him to won the ‘People’s Choice Award.’ He became so popular that when the show ended, he has established himself as a successful singer in Germany and Austria. He continuously performs in concerts and has released nine music albums. ‘Knight Rider’ ended in 1986, but he wasn't off the air for long. In 1989, he returned to television to star and produce in the T.V. series ‘Baywatch.’ He played the role of Mitch Buchannon, who looks after a group of lifeguards in California. This beach adventure show had a rocky start, and it moved from network television to syndicated television after its first season. But it soon developed a following, especially overseas due to his popularity in Europe. It became one of the most viewed show in the history of television with over one billion people watched it in over 140 countries. It ran for 11 years until its end in 2001. In his personal life, he was married twice. First with his Knight Rider’s co-star Catherine Hickland. They separated in 1989. Then he got married to actress Pamela Bach. The couple had two daughters. It was going well until 2006 when the duo filed for divorce. His popularity among his friends is still the same, and they call him by his nickname ‘The Hoff.’
