Harry Key is a Bollywood actor turned author and speech trainer of Australian descent. After finishing his studies in theater and media in Bathurst, Key was backpacking in India on his motorcycle. He traveled extensively and covered almost the whole country, even going upto Leh and Ladakh.

Harry recalls that his first experience of Bollywood was coming to India; where 90% of the posters and advertisements are about Bollywood, and the rest about Cricket.

He was traveling in Mumbai on his motorcycle when someone spotted him on the streets and offered him the role of an extra in the film, Jaan-e-Mann. He took it up because he had a theater background. His first role paid him Rs. 500 for working 19 hours a day, which was equivalent to 20 USD at that time. Harry started getting a lot of roles, given the lack of foreign white actors in the industry. He applied for a work visa, which made it even easier for him to get work.

According to Harry, the lack of research and preparation in Bollywood is an opportunity in itself; and as most of the foreign artists are used just as fillers, the lines they speak don’t matter. This resulted in Harry writing his own lines, most of the time.

His ability to adapt was the key to his success in the industry, as he learned Hindi and horse riding; which got him even more roles.

In 2008, he appeared as a businessman in the 2008 super hit romantic comedy, ‘ Dostana Click to look into! >> Read More... ’; alongside Priyanka Chopra Born on 18 July 1982, Priyanka Chopra is an establ >> Read More... , John Abraham Like some of our sexy stars, John Abraham has had >> Read More... , and Abhishek Bachchan.

Harry was roped into playing a British officer in Hariharan's 2009 historical drama, Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja. At that time, it was the costliest film made in the Malayalam movie industry, and also went on to win three National Film Awards and many other accolades. In 2011, Harry played a minor role in Sohan Roy's sci-fi disaster film, Dam 999. Despite it being controversial in India, the screenplay made its way into the permanent core collection in the Library of Academy of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences.

Harry took a break from acting and worked for A.R Rahman. He worked as his road manager for a while.

After working in the industry for five years, Harry now works as a speech confidence coach, and he also wrote a book titled, Speak for Yourself. He also gives a bit of cultural training, and helps western companies in making strategies to break into the Indian market.
