Josh Hartnett is a multitalented actor and producer. He was born as Joshua Daniel Hartnett on July 21, 1978 at Saint Paul in Minnesota USA, to Wendy Anne and Daniel Thomas Hartnett. His father remarries and he has three half-siblings namely, Jake, Jessica and Jose. Josh’ father is a half Irish and half German while his mother came from a Swedish and Norwegian lineage. He was brought up as a Roman Catholic and studied at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Grade School and Cretin-Derham Hall High School before he graduated in South High School in Minnesota in year 1996. Josh used to play sports in school and he loves football. Never in his entire life did he ever think that he will become a performer until one day, he got injured that lead him to stop on joining any field of sports. One of his relative advised him to audition on Tom Sawyer’s stage production. To his surprise, he was selected to bag the role of Huckleberry Finn. Since then, acting became his passion and he started to appear in many high school plays. Initially, he worked on a local video store. Josh is a vegetarian since 12 but his role in the 2006 film, The Black Dahlia requires him to eat meat since he played as a boxer.

Soon after, he got his unbelievable break when he got a part in the drama series, Cracker. However, after airing 16 episodes, the series was cancelled. But Josh has proven his mettle as an actor so he concentrated on bagging feature film works. Later on, Josh have appeared in various Hollywood films like Black Hawk Down, Pearl Harbor and The Faculty. He was the original choice in playing the character of Tino in the crime drama film, Deuces Wild but has to dropped it to appear in Pearl Harbor. In year 2002, he was featured in the drama film, O, the modern adaptation of Othello by William Shakespeare. Josh was also approached several times to essay the role of Clark Kent/Superman but he always turned the offer down since he doesn’t want to commit himself to a foreseen 10-year role. He said that it is not the kind of movie that he wanted to do so he normally turned the offer down if it’s a superhero role.

 In 1999, he was selected by Teen People’s magazine as one of the ’21 Hottest stars Under 21’ and ’25 Hottest Stars under 25’. He was also chosen to be one of the ’50 Most Beautiful People’ in year 2002. Josh was also the ‘3rd Sexiest Male’ according to Bliss magazine and the ‘Sexiest Vegetarian Alive’ by PETA.

In 2007, Josh was cast in films like Resurrecting the Champ along with Samuel Jackson and 30 Days of Night. In 2008, he acted in the theatre adaptation of Rain Man which was held at the Apollo Theatre at the West end of London. He also did print and television ads for Emporio Armani’s Diamonds for Men fragrance and became the first male personality to epitomize the Giorgio Armani Beauty. Josh was also featured on various magazine covers for several times, including the Cosmogirl, Seventeen, GQ, Vman, Vanity Fair, Vogue, Details, Girlfriend, ELLE, InStyle and more.
