Liu Ye

Liu Ye is an established actor in China, who is also a part of Hollywood. He has graduated in performing arts from the Central Academy of Drama in Beijing.

Liu made his debut, in the year 1998, through the film ShijiZheMeng. He delivered an effectual acting in his next film Postmen in the Mountains in the year 1999. He went on to get nominated for the Best Supporting Actors Award at the Golden Roosters Award for that movie. He has acted in many unconventional roles that made him stand tall among others. He acted like a homosexual man in the film Lan Yu, which fetched him the best actor award at the 38th Golden Horse Awards. After three years, Liu Ye went on to bag the best actor award at the 24th Golden Roosters Award for the film The Foliage. Furthermore, many of his movies have been presented in International Film Festivals, such as Purple Butterfly, The Floating Landscape, Balzac, The Little Chinese Seamstress and so on. Liu Ye entered Hollywood through the film Dark Matter Story soon >> Read More... , which was inspired from the shooting at Iowa University incidence. The film was featured in various international platforms and won several awards. He donned a negative role for the first time in the film Connected (2008). In the film The Founding of a Party, Liu Ye had to gain weight to look like a thirty-year-old and without hesitation he worked painstakingly by eating 20 eggs a day to gain 10 kilograms.

Liu Ye was wedded to French girlfriend, Anais Martane, in Beijing, in the year 2009. They both have had a cute, different love story. Martane did not know till the very end that Liu Ye was a famous actor. She wanted him to accompany her to a function in French Embassy, where many reporters would be present. Initially, Liu Ye hesitated, but then could not say no. As soon as they entered the Embassy, the reporters recognized Liu and gathered around him. Only then Anais Martane came to know about his profession. The lovely couple has two kids- a son named Liu Nooyi and a daughter called Liu Nina.
