Michael Stuhlbarg took birth in Long Beach, California. He belongs to Judaism and completed his education at The Juilliard School in New York City. During 1988-1992, he attained the membership in Drama Divison’s Group 21 and finally graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1992. He even went for higher studies in the same field and therefore, he is alumni of University of California, Vilnius Conservatory, and British American Drama Academy. He was also the part of National Youth Theatre of Great Britain. He further went on to study mime with the most famous mime personality, Marcel Marceau. He tied the wedding knot with Mai-Linh Lofgren. He started off his career by featuring in various stage productions.
The Pillowman earned him a Tony Award nomination as well as he grabbed a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding featured actor in a play. He went on to do plays like Long Day’s Journey into Night and Old Wicked Songs. Besides featuring plays, he is also part of television and did show like Boardwalk Empire, where he portrayed the character of Arnold Rothstein. The biggest achievement for him as an actor came from A Serious Man, which was a dark comedy movie, directed by Coen brothers’. He played the role of troubled Larry Gopnik and earned a nomination in Golden Globe Awards.
