Nicholas Bishop is an Australian actor known for his role of Peter Dunlop on the drama Body of Proof. He was born on 19 September, 1973 in Swindon, England. When he was six months, his parents moved to Australia where they settled in Canberra, the capital city of Australia. Nicholas’s father used to work in the Australian army. After his schooling, Bishop took admission in Radford College based in the capital itself. In 1996, he graduated from NIDA (National Institute of Dramatic Art) in the subject of Performing Arts (Acting).

Ever since then, he has taken up the post of screen acting tutor in the institute on a regular basis. In his initial phase, he took up minor parts in local dramas which include Blue Heelers, White Collar Blue, and All Saints. In 1998, Wild side turned out to be his first television outing in his life. Basically, the show focused on police personnel, Australian Broadcasting Corporation screened the serial. Then, he starred in ventures such as “The Sugar Factory (a 1998 film)”, “Occasional Coarse Language (1998)”, “Water Rats (1999)”, “Above the Law (2000)”, “My Mother Frank (2000)”, “Blue Heelers”, “Walking on Water”, “All Saints”, “Farscape”, and “White Collar Blue.” In 2004, his major breakthrough came in the form of “Home and Away” where he portrayed the role of Detective Peter Baker.

Involved in 164 episodes, he became a part of one of the longest running Australian TV series. The series is said to have taken inspiration from MJ Rose’s “The Reincarnationist”, where the lead solves crimes with the help of his memories created in his past life which he lived in ancient Rome. Despite its interesting plot, the program did not find any favors with the audience, resulting in cancelation after five episodes only.

Nicholas made a special appearance in another famous American series “Necessary Roughness” in 2011. In the same year, he bagged the role of Peter Dunlop, an ex-policeman turned private investigator in the medical drama “Body of Lies.” Fans loved Bishop for his effortless acting and catapulted the actor as followers’ favorite Aussie TV star. The movie got praises from all over the countries for the handling of issue of discrimination. Nicholas got married to Claire Smith in 2006 and have two children, Ava and Harrison. He was chosen as 2006 Australia Day Ambassador. He confessed to being an “Army brat” and moved to different parts of the world due to his father’s profession.
