His father Shaun Mellet was a Jewish and works as a real estate agent and his mother, Laurelle Mellet, a homemaker. Troye Sivan Mellet was born on 5 June 1995 in the city of Johannesburg in South Africa. He currently resides in Perth in Western Australia. He is a singer-turned-actor and also a songwriter. He is famously known by the name Troye Sivan. The singer has adopted ‘Sivan’ as his stage name. Sivan is the son of Laurelle Mellet and Shaun Mellet, who is an Australian real estate agent. He has three siblings- Sage, Steele, and Tyde.

He did his schooling from the Carmel School till 2009 and continued his studies through the distance learning program.
