Catherine Keener is an American Actress who was born on March 23, 1959. Her birthplace is Miami, Florida. Her family includes mother Evelyn and father Jim Keener along with 4 other siblings. Keener went to Monsignor Edward Pace High School. She graduated with a degree of B.A from Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts in the year 1983.

She holds a major in subjects like English and History. She was a manager of McDonalds in . She then became an assistant director and shifted to Los Angeles. Her debut in the world of television was when she did a detective fiction series named Ohara in which she played the role of Lt. Cricket Sideris that ran from 1987-88. She made her debut in the film industry by appearing in that saw its release in the year 1986.

A number of her performances got her several nominations for Independent Spirit Awards. The movie that bagged her nominations was Johnny Suede (1991), Walking and Talking (1996) and Lovely and Amazing (2001).
