Franka Potente

Born in Munster, West Germany, Franka Potente is a German actress and singer, who is best identified for her character as Jason Bourne’s paramour in the “Bourne” film series. In one of the interviews, she declared that she stayed in America as an exchange student and had an American boyfriend, went to American prom and watched American football. She was freaking serious about her boyfriend, so much that she dragged him to Germany to meet her parents. Needless to say, the parents were shocked.

Outside school, Potente chose to act and in the year 1995, she was featured in her first film named, “Aufbruch”. After being discovered by a casting agent, she starred in the movie, “NachFunfimUrwald,” which means “After Five in the Forest Primeval” in English. Her performance was remarkable in this movie, and therefore, she received the Bavarian Film Award in the year 1996, for “Young Talent”. After flying off to Europe, she worked in some of the European movies; one of the magazines named, “Variety” even critically praised her performance in the movie, “Lola Rennt”, which was an absolute blockbuster commercially. Her enactment in the horror movie, “Anatomy” was declared as “gutsy” by the “Variety” magazine.

Her movie, “The Princess and the Warrior” earned a set of nominations in a couple of award ceremonies namely, German Film Awards and European Film Awards.
