Kat Dennings

Katherine Litwack, who is professionally known to the world as Kat Dennings, is an American actress. She is the youngest of five children including an older brother. Her father Gerald Litwack is a molecular pharmacologist and a professor while her mother Ellen Judith Litwack is a poet and a speech therapist. Her interest towards acting started in her early days itself as she began her career in commercials at the age of 10. Her first ad was for potato chips.

At the age of 14, seeing her enthusiastic and dedicated work towards acting, her family (who once considered her idea of taking up a career in the film industry as the worst choice ever made) moved to Los Angeles, California to support her acting full-time. Only then her career boomed.

She made her professional debut with an appearance in HBO’s popular show Sex and the City in the year 1998. Few other films that were lined up for her include Raising Dad in 2001, ‘Everwood’ during 2002, Without a Trace in 2002. Her first TV film came through Disney Channel’s The Scream Team (2002). She also starred in the ‘CSI’ series twice.

Finally, her hardship paved the way for her to act in feature films. Her first premiere was in Hilary Duff’s Raise your voice (2004), in which she played a piano student. At first she landed up doing several supporting roles in films such as The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Down in the Valley. She utilized everything the Almighty God had given her in the right way that led her to take up the leading roles in movies such as Charlie Bartlett, Big Momma’s House 2. It is important to mention the romantic movie Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist (2008), where she starred in the role of Norah and got nominated for the International Press Academy’s Satellite Award for Best Actress. She was on top of the world when she heard the news that she was roped in to play a tech-savvy assistant to the great Jane Foster. She then signed for few other movies and TV shows namely Two Broke Girls, Day One, Suburban Gothic and in 2013 she was able to restore her role in the Thor sequel Thor The Dark World.
