In Switzerland Kat was born and brought up in California in Los Angeles. Her father's name is Joseph, is an Americo-Liberian. And her mother’s name Natasha is a Jew. Joseph was a music executive. Her parents separated when she was five. Yakov is Kat's half-brother, who is born in Israel. Graham was brought up by in Jewish religion. She was in Hebrew school. Kat started writing song lyrics,/ and got interested in the whole recording process. Kat was being featured in many music videos while simultaneously she was working on film and even television. Kat considers Jennifer Lopez, Tupac Shakur, Shakira, Nelly Furtado and Rihanna as her inspiration. Also, her music inspiration includes Destiny's Child. Kat also adored the Spice Girls. She says her sound is as a "vintage 90's with a modern twist."

Kat knows English, French and Spanish. She also knows a bit of Portuguese and Hebrew. Kat started her career in the industry at a very young age of six. The next eight years, she did various commercials, even those for Barbie, Pop-Tart, K-Mart. When she was 15, choreographer Fatima Robinson did ask her to be a background dancer for BET Award function and Bow Wow.
