Amy Winehouse was a British songwriter and singer known to deliver performances in deep vocals. She was born in a Jewish family in north London at Chase Farm Hospital. Her father Mitchell Winehouse was a taxi and driver and a window-pane installer and her mother Janis Winehouse was a pharmacist. She had an elder brother named Alex. She lived with her family in Southgate suburban area of London. Amy went to Osidge Primary School. Amy’s parents got separated when she was just nine years old. She lived with her mother at on weekends she used to spend her time with her father and his girlfriend in a village in Essex. Amy’s family had a music touch as her maternal uncles were jazz musicians and her paternal grandmother was a singer. Amy’s mother and father recognized her interest in jazz music so, on her grandmother’s suggestion, Amy’s parents sent her to Susi Earnshaw Theatre School in Barnet where she received her vocal education and tap dance. After attending this school for four years, she became the founder of a rap group named Sweet 'n' Sour with her childhood friend Juliette Ashby, who was also a singer. Amy received her full-time training in music from Sylvia Young Theatre School. There were some allegations on Amy of getting her nose pierced and not applying herself for which she was expelled from the school at the age of 14 years.

After that, she attended various schools that include the Mount School, the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology, Osidge JMI School and Ashmole School. Amy began to write music at the age of 15 years and then started working to earn a living. She worked as an entertainment journalist and sang with the Bolsha Band. During her early career, she recorded songs with EMI and got spotted by Simon Fuller's 19 Management and was their big secret. As Amy was a genuine young talent, many big organizers wanted to sign her up. Her debut album came in the year 2003 titled Frank. This album became popular and got a wide appreciation of the audience. It got nominated for various awards and also won many of them. Her international success came up in 2006-07 when she got involved in touring. She earned wide popularity in this time for her second hit album Back to Black. Her legacy continued with the release of the album’s subsequent songs and it hit the UK Top Charts. She also won Best British Female Solo Artist Award, five Grammy Awards in various categories. This album of her became the world's seventh-biggest-selling album of the year 2008. In her final years, she went on to deliver live performances on stage in various functions, fests, events, etc. and was on her career top level. On the contrary, she had a problem with alcohol and drug intake which ultimately turned out to be the cause of her death.

She died on 23 July 2011 in London after which her albums again became hit on the top music charts and her album Back to Black became the best-selling album in the UK in the twenty-first century. Her greatness is reflected in her achievements and the memories that are still there intact. Amy’s wax sculpture was put up in the year 2008 at the Madame Tussauds Museum and after her death, her statue was unveiled at Stables Market in Camden Town, which was made by sculptor Scott Eaten. She still lies somewhere in the heart of her fans, and many biographical sketches have been made in her remembrance.
