Charles Otto Puth also known as Charlie Puth is an American singer, songwriter, arranger, and producer. He was born on December 2, 1991, in Rumson, New Jersey. He is the son of Debra and Charles Puth. When he was three years old, Puth suffered a dog bite incident that damaged his eyebrows and hence one can see a deep cut in his right eyebrow. In 2010, Puth graduated from Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School.

He also attended the Manhattan School of Pre-College as a jazz piano major. He obtained a full scholarship for the course Music production and engineering and qualified from Berklee College of Music in the year 2013. During his schooldays in 2009, he started a You tube channel in the name Charlie’s Vlogs in which he posted comedy videos and covers.

After almost a year, Puth felt it was time to release his first music video titled These are My Sexy Shades. Within a few days, he released his play The Otto Tunes. He performed various songs on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and also staged in several charity programs such as DKMS Delete Blood Cancer. In the later part of 2012, he decided to quit eleveneleven. In 2013, he released his next play Ego. He was called by various artists to write songs and jingles for their YouTube channels.

Some of the notable works include Theme song for Shane Dawson’s podcast, intro jingle for Shaytards, a theme song for Charles Trippy’s Vlog. In 2014, he released another single L.U.V and in the same year he earned a chance to co-write the track named Celebrate on Pitbull’s album Globalization. In 2015, Puth signed a contract with Atlantic and released his first single Marvin Gaye.

The single topped the charts in Australia, UK, New Zealand, and was ranked at the position 21 on the popular Billboard Hot 100. He wrote, co-produced, and starred in the video tribute to late Paul Walker “See You Again” this could be the fastest hit song >> Read More... along with Wiz Khalifa in the single See You Again. The hit song topped the chart for 12 weeks. The number got nominated for three Grammy Awards that includes Song of the year, Best Song to be written for Visual Media, and Best Pop Group Performance.

The single also got shortlisted for BBC Music Awards and also Golden Globe Award for the Best Original Song. On May 1, 2015, Puth released a five-song play titled Some Type of Love. His debut studio album Nine Track Mind released on January 29, 2016. It was ranked number three in the UK.
