Prateek Gandhi is a film and theatre actor who mainly works for Gujrat theatre and cinema also known as Hollywood. He was born and brought up in Surat, Gujrat. His parents are teachers by profession. He completed his school education from Bhulka Bhavan School where he also got involved in theatre arts. Prateek’s childhood dream was to become a successful doctor, but due to low grades he opted to become Industrial Engineer in Maharashtra. After his graduation, Gandhi worked as a salesman during the day and used to work as a theatre artist by evening. He further worked in the corporate sector and got a job in National Productivity Council in Pune. Prateek found his initial stardom through the play called Aa Paar Ke Pele Paar in the year 2005; alongside Firoz Bhagat, Apra Mehta and Vipra Rawal.

The show was a success and from there on Gandhi went on to work in various other Gujarati theatre shows such as Hun Chandrakant Bakshi, Master Madam, Apurva Avsar, Saat Teri Ekvees, and one Hindi play Mere Piya Gaye Rangoon. Prateek made his debut in the film industry through an English Film- Yours Emotionally in the year 2006, though the film did not receive any noticeable success. In the year 2009, Prateek married a television actress and theatre artist Bhamini Oza in a family affair wedding. The film was successful critically and commercially and went on to complete 50 weeks in the theatre. It also became the first ever Gujarati movie to be showcased at New York Film Festival. Prateek’s contribution to theatre became noticeable when he played the role of Mahatma Gandhi in play Mohan No Masalo. Prateek even got his name included in Limca Book of Record when his play Mohan No Masalo was performed in Hindi, English and in Gujarati all in one day. In the year 2016, Prateek worked in film ‘Wrong Side Raju.’ This film also became successful in all aspects and was loved by the audience to a great deal. The film even won a National Award for being the best Gujarati Film. Last year, Prateek’s two films were released- Love Ni Bhavnai and Tamburo and both the films were successful in box office.

Pratik married TV and theatre actress Bhamini Ojha in 2009. The couple was blessed with a daughter born in 2014.Â
