Aalia Rasheed is the first female Sports Journalist of Pakistan. She is a senior sports/cricket anchor and analyst. She is also the Director and Producer of Media Mind Presentation. She resides in Islamabad city (capital city) of Pakistan. She did her schooling from Cosmopolitan School, Karachi and also studied at the University of Karachi. She did her Masters in International Relations. Her parents at that time were in America. She, at that time, lived with her grandmother. She said she wanted to do her masters in Journalism but did not get admission after which she chose Industrial Relations. She is of the view that leaving a few specific areas; your degree is not much related to the practical life. She was never too keen to be famous. She is more of a family oriented person. Aalia said for her, self-satisfaction in her work is more important than the views of others. She wants that her work speaks volume. She started working as a Television anchor at the age of eighteen. Aalia has worked for The News- Pakistani newspaper and for ICC (International Cricket Council) Champions Trophy Secretariat. She has also published ‘Allrounder’ magazine. She also featured in the transmission of Pakistan Super League through Geo Television network. Rasheed also is a regular cricket news analyst for extension Geo Television Network- Geo News.

She was also a guest on Eid special episode on Capital Talk show on Zem TV. She has made an appearance on numerous TV talk shows and news programmes related to cricket. Some of the plays are Karvat, Talash, Chaap, Khwaab se Khwaab Tak, Chaukat, Bichdeyeinge Ab Kaise, Baji and much more. Rasheed also received the award in the category of the best director once. Her play ‘Baji’ was telecasted on the eve of Women’s day in Pakistan. She is also very active in the direction in present too. Aalia Rasheed also directed a documentary on the Pakistani cricketer Misbah-ul-Haq.

Captain Calm was the name of the documentary. In her interview on the show ‘A Morning with Farah’, she said that it is necessary to maintain individuality in a male dominated society. She likes when the woman maintains her outlook. She said that she was more comfortable while working backstage rather than coming on screen. She also wrote an article on Cricket for the Pakistani magazine ‘Kaisa Hoga 2016’ in the Urdu language.

Aalia Rasheed, the senior sports journalist, was appointed Director of Media and Communication by The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Geo News has given this information. Prior to this, Aalia worked as a lead cricket analyst on Geo News for eight years. With this appointment, Aalia became the first woman in PCB's history to hold the role of media head.
