He had a hobby of painting and taking still photographs. He became the first graduate of FTII to get a Filmfare Award. Mr. Deohans started his career with Mr. Nadeem Khan and for three years worked as his Chief Assistant in EkNayaRishta andKasamPaidaKarne Wale Ki and then finally he got his first Feature Film to break Qayamat Se QayamatTak which did extremely well.

He was asked by RakyeshOmprakashMehra to work as DoP on Aks the Reflection for which he received nominations from both Filmfare and Screen.
It was his high time as he was working with the legend Mr.
Amitabh Bachchan and subsequently, it was Bachchan who recommended him to
Karan Johar, and that’s how he did KabhieKhushiKabhieGham, with both films made practically back-to-back. After that, he did Jodha Akbar which was a historical film and that in itself is so rare in the industry. Then he did Agneepath which was a tremendous success. He also did RamayaVastaVaiya for Prabhudeva.
Next, he created magnetic visuals like a shot in Sarabjit. He and his wife Aban had established their own Production House called Candid Creations. Their first music video, Krishna, was mind-blowing and won several awards for Direction. He produced short film ‘Teaspoon’ with his wife as the director which was awarded the Best Screenplay at the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival and has also won several Awards nationally and internationally.
He has two children-one his daughter Tania Deohans, and son, Dave Deohans. Both have opted for the same creative field as their parent. The FTII trained Deohans, would like to move on to film direction provided he finds the right script.
