Mayuri Bhandari was born and brought up in the United States but comes from an east Indian lineage.

She went to Santa Monica College and completed a scholar program in dance. During this time, Mayuri participated in several dance competitions and came out as a winner on the events such as AGS Talent Show (2009 and 2010), Global Citizen Competition (2010). She also received multiple scholarship offers from Retired Teachers Association, Alpha Gamma Sigma (AGS) Loly Scholarship, and SMC Teachers Association.

Soon after that, Mayuri Bhandari completed her Bachelor's degree at the University of California, Berkeley (UCB) with honors in dance performance and south Asian studies. She was part of the UCB Bollywood dance team and has choreographed and performed on national events. During her two-year stint in college, Mayuri Bhandari received numerous recognitions. She got named as 'Person of the Week' by Caliber Magazine, a UC Berkeley's student-run magazine. Apart from being a student at Santa Monica College and the University of California, Berkeley, Mayuri served as a dancer and fitness instructor in both the institution.

She taught Bollywood dance, ballet, and hip-hop classes. In 2013, she found BollyX, a Bollywood-inspired dance-fitness program. It has more than 4000 plus instructors and is available in more than twenty countries. In 2014, Mayuri Bhandari entered Dare to Dance as a wildcard contestant. She soon impressed the judges with her impeccable performances. Subsequently, she appeared in several television shows and came as one of the finalists of the 'UCP Flip the Script,' a Monologue Contest aired on NBC Universal networks.

Mayuri parallelly followed her acting interest and has starred in serval short films such as Safe, Saptapadi, and Noah, Come Home. In 2019, she appeared in the feature film 'Noah, Come Home' directed by Corey Grant. She also acted in a small role in the television series Dave (2020). Mayuri has also done advertisements for brands such as Tea India, Toyota, and Fabletics. She desires to be part of more authentic stories in the future. She uses her voice to support a vegan style of life, women's empowerment, and stories of brown experience in a foreign country. She found the 'Moksha Liberation through Movement,' a non-profit organization that trains dances treatment to disabled and mentally challenged children in rural schools in India. Mayuri Bhandari is also pursuing her Master's degree in Yoga Studies and can speak Hindi, Urdu, Marwari, and Marathi.
