Mohena Singh is the offspring of Pushpa Raj Singh, the Maharajah of Rewa. In the year 1990, as a Member of M.P. Government, his father took up issues of background and was put on the State Wildlife Board in the year 1994-95. He matured as Minister in the year 1997 for Urban Development and Local Self Govt. Mohena's mom always encouraged her in her career decisions. In the year 2012, she participated as a contestant in the Season 3 of the famous television reality show Dance India Dance. The season was judged by the three well-known dance personalities Geeta Kapoor, Terrence Lewis and Remo D'Souza.

The show helped her in becoming a known personality to the world and delivered many good performances in Indian Classical as well trying a different genre Western Hip-Hop dance.
