Shampa Sonthalia is one of the renowned Bollywood choreographers. Before turning a choreographer, she had co-choreographed for many films, including Ram Leela and Malang. In 2015, she choreographed the Chinese film, Xuan Zang. She had been the Associate choreographer in Asia's Got Talent on AXN in 2015. This is an international reality show.

She choreographed for the 2016 movie "Neerja," directed by Ram Madhvani, featuring Sonam Kapoor in the titular role. In the same year, Shampa choreographed for "Tum Bin 2," directed by Abubhav Sinha, featuring Aditya Seal, Neha Sharma, Mouni Roy, and Aashim Gulati. In 2017, she choreographed for "Heartbeats," directed by Duane Adler and featuring Amitash Pradhan, Krystal Ellsworth, Daphne Zuniga, and Paul McGillion. In the same year, she worked as the choreographer in the film Qarib Qarib Single featuring Irrfan Khan and Parvathy Thiruvothu in the lead roles, directed by Tanuja Chandra. Shampa Sonthalia took part in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 4 with Sushant Singh Rajput and got second place. In 2012, she participated in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season 5 and won the title. In Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season 7, she took part in the show with Ashish Sharma and won the title.
