Varun Kumar

Varun Kumar is the man behind the VM Company of Dance. He founded the dance academy with the collaboration of Monisha; both came together after a dance reality show. Varun started his professional career with the Indian Dance Reality show called Dance India Dance. Because of his brilliant dance skills, he was the ‘Singham of Dance India Dance.’

It was a big achievement for him. He was part of the season three of the show and became one of the top ten contestants. He got mentored by Terence in ‘Terence Ki Toli.’ He began his dance journey at the tender age of ten. Coming from an ISKON going family, his first few performances were for the ISKON Temple heritage festival. He performed dance drama and played Yakshagana at the temple. He took professional dance training for five years in Training one dance Academy.

Varun is skilled in KayariPayattu, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Contemporary, and Bollywood dance forms. He is a Dance trainer, Choreographer, artist, and performer also. His achievement started from his first performance in the ISKON Temple Festival where he received two gold medals. He worked in the Studio one Academy as an instructor. He was also the lead choreographer in the Zenith Dance Institute. In the year 2013, Varun was the representation of the country in the ‘China Youth Festival.’ He didn’t restrict himself to India only, instead went abroad in Thailand and South Korea and attended shows there.

He took many Dance workshops within India and also performed at the opening ceremony of Indian motor GP. This genius also took the challenge of acting and did his first movie ‘Mamu Tea angadi’ in the year 2014. He played the lead actor in the film and choreographed the songs as well. He was part of the mega event performed by the team of dance India.

It got registered in ‘Guiness Book of World Records.’ He performed and choreographed Rochelle Roy in ‘JhalakDikhlaJa,’ season six. Coming to regional television, he was the finalist of Dance Dance on Star Suvarna channel. He also won the runner-up position for a dance reality show named kick, on Udaya TV.
