Director Of Photography Incharge Of Camera Shooting

The director of photography is also known as the cinematographer and is someone who handles the camera for the film or TV show. They are the main head of the camera and shooting department and are responsible for taking care of the camera equipment. The head camera operator may also be known as a director photography or cinematographer of the film. For TV shows, they are more commonly known as television camera operator while in video productions such as music videos they are called videographer's.

Cinematography is the art of shooting and filming in the most effective way possible. He/ she are the ones who handle the filming of the film or TV show. They are either freelancers or work under a larger company. Camera assistants help the cinematographer in setting up the equipment and shooting sequences for films and TV shows. They then decide what camera position or angle is best for the most effective appearance on screen. They fix the cameras and position them in the right angles to capture scenes according to the script.

They collaborate with the director, actors and script team to get the right shot. They also work with the head of the photography department and the lighting team. A good camera operator can successfully help to understand the storyline of the film or TV show with camera movements and angles. Cinematographers are important in every film and TV show as no shooting can be done without their expertise and knowledge of filming.
