Anjuli Shukla is a film director and Indian cinematographer. She has also won National Award for Best Cinematography. She is the first, and the only woman to win that Award. She has won this Award for her film named “Kutty Srank.” “Happy Mother’s Day” directed by Anjuli Shukla is a movie by (CFSI) Children’s Film Society, India. It was the opening film at 19th International Children’s Film Festival India. She works as an assistant to him. She was born in Lucknow which is a city in Uttar Pradesh (U.P.) state of India.

Her family was not having any background or connection with the film industry. She completed her degree of graduation from Christ Church College which is situated in Lucknow. She was passionate about films since her childhood. After completing her degree of graduation, she joined the course of cinematography at Film and Television Institute of India. According to her, it was the best platform for her to show her creativity and skills. Her parents supported her in every decision she took. They had faith and trust in their daughter. Her diploma was screened at Camerimage Film Festival in a competition section. After that, she started working as an apprentice under a well-known director and cinematographer named “Santosh Sivan.” She assisted him in many films which include two Hollywood films as well. These are “Before the Rains,” and “The Mistress of Spices.”

Some of these films are Prarambha which was released in the year 2007, Anandabhadram in the year 2005, and much more.

She worked as an independent cinematographer in the Malayalam film named “Kutty Srank” which was directed by Shaji n. Karun. It was the first ever film which has been shot by a woman cinematographer. In the year 2010, Anjuli Shukla, at 57th National Film Awards The National Film Awards gets presented every year >> Read More... , has won the Award for Best Cinematography. It was a great achievement for her. With this, she became the first woman to get this Award in this category. After her debut movie, she again joined “Santosh Sivan” for a period drama named “Urumi.” She also got nominated for Golden Tadpole Award in the category of Best Cinematography in the year 2004.
