A sinking ship comes to mind when one thinks of Arjun Sablok’s career. Working under the Yashraj banner for the majority of his career, Sablok was touted to be on the road to perennial success. Before venturing into direction, Sablok made cameo appearances in the late Yash Chopra’s ‘ Vijay As they always say, "it runs in the blood", the sa >> Read More... ’ in 1988 and the evergreen blockbuster ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaayenge’ in 1995. Sablok embarked on his directorial journey by directing the TV film, ‘Humko Ishq Ne Maara.‘ After this, he decided to take the bull by its horns by directing “Na Tum Jaano Na Hum” in 2002 which starred the likes of Hrithik Roshan, Saif Ali Khan, and Esha Deol.  In a nutshell, the movie was unheralded and Sablok went on a three-year hiatus before releasing a movie that pretty much ended his career, ‘Neal ‘n’ Nikki’. Shot in Canada, the movie fell flat on its face and was critically bashed to death. After his directorial debacle, Sablok has taken up a political rendezvous of sorts as he directed the advert for Samajwadi Party’s election campaign. The campaign happened to be a success, attested by the party’s thumping victory. All in all, Sablok’s trail is one of a career that couldn’t hit the heights one might’ve thought it could hit.
