Aziz Mirza was born in 1947 and has established himself as one of the more popular directors in Indian films. Aziz has not been active in the industry since 2008 but his popularity has yet to die due to the reputation he has made in Bollywood.

Aziz began his career working with his brother Saeed Mirza and director in 1985. The three of them established Iskra, a production house. He made his directorial debut in a television show Circus. The show followed a circus and starred Shahrukh Khan and . This was Shahrukh Khan’s first break into Indian television and also helped establish Ashutosh Gowariker who later on became a director himself in Bollywood.

Shahrukh Khan and Aziz Mirza had formed a special bond during Circus and he partnered with Sharukh for all the movies he has directed. The first, Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, was Mirza’s debut film in Bollywood. and Shahrukh Khan shared the screen in the comedy, which follows a young engineer going to Bombay to find a job and falls in love with a girl. Then he directed and Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, both films starred Juhi Chawla and Shahrukh Khan. Both films were well received and were hits. Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani was the first movie made by Dreamz Unlimited which was a production company formed by Aziz Mirza, Shahrukh Khan, and Juhi Chawla.
