Ismail Umar Khan is an Indian Television director. He worked as a director for over two dozen Indian daily soaps. His works include Banoo Main Teri Dulhann, Hatim, Kabhi Souten Kabhi Saheli, etc. Ismail is a much-loved director, and he has produced some of highest TRP gaining shows in the Indian television industry.

The director became the person behind the kid’s superhero show Adventures of Hatim. He won the Best director Telly award for the show Sapno Se Bhare Naina which starred on Star Plus in the year 2012. He also received the Lions Best Director award for Laut Aau Trisha in 2015. Since childhood, Ismail wanted to become an actor.

In the year 1995, he started his journey with the superhero show Shaktimaan, his friend Rajanji recommended him for the show. While assisting for Shaktiman, Ismail realized that he should go for direction. In 2001, he took part in a daily soap Kabhi Souten Kabhi Saheli for the Balaji Banner; it became his first directorial show and his breakthrough. Then, he went on to supervise kid’s superhero show Adventures of Hatim in 2003; Ismail directed almost twenty-five episodes for the series.

After Hatim, he supervised Chi ‘n’ me in 2004, the science fiction series helped him hone his skills as a director. In 2006, after five years of struggle, Ismail directed Banoo Main Teri Dulhann for Zee TV. With him as the director, the show became as one of the highest TRP earning daily soaps of that time.

It also got the Tell Award and got aired for three years with four hundred episodes. This show became a turning point in Ismail’s direction career. Ismail has also directed shows like Babul Ka Aangaan Chootey Na, Santaan, Mitwa, Bandhan, etc.

His favorite works in his directorial are Dulhaan and Santaan. Ismail has explored every genre in his career; he has directed spiritual shows, religious, adventure, social drama, and superhero shows. He has worked with Sagar Arts, Balaji, UTV, BBC, etc.

He also wants to direct and produce movies in the future. For now, his work and achievement are mind-blowing. He won the Best director Telly award for the show Sapno Se Bhare Naina which starred on Star Plus in the year 2012. He also received the Lions Best Director award for Laut Aau Trisha in 2015.
