Industry people were shocked to see how Ravi Dewan could make Naseruddin do action roles in the ‘Jalwa’ movie. He always feels that after he has conceived the action of choreography for any movie, it is a task for the cinematographer to coordinate and make the cameraman listen to the ideas given by the stunt director.

Even an editor, too must have a good understanding of the script and the scenes shot. Plus, finally, an actor has to listen to the stunt choreographer and give his best to make the scene a refreshing one. When Ravi Dewan entered the cine field at a time when there were no bound scripts and even the directors did not have formal education from Film institutes that lacked the exact vision for stunt masters to perform their jobs.

In a career of over three decades, he had never endangered any human being (actor or stunt double) he has worked with and directed. He feels that storyboarding of action is important and in some cases necessary, especially when the crew is shooting action with VFX.  He has handled largest-scale action choreographed scenes in Jodhaa Akhbar (2008). Those scenes included a large number of stunt-actors, elephants, and mahouts too.
