He always has a keen interest in directing films and decided to pursue his career as a director. He was born in 1975 in Mumbai, India and did his schooling from St. Joseph’s High School situated in Wadala, Mumbai. He further went for his graduation at Ruia College, Mumbai and obtained a degree in English Literature. After that, he realized that his interest lies in directing films, so he went to Kolkata, India to Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (1997-2001) and received a Diploma in Direction and Screenplay Writing.

During his final year in Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, he directed and wrote the script of a short film called Kalu Ravi. It was a Bengali film, and it received much appreciation from the other fellows. The movie was also selected for Mumbai International Film Festival in 2003. It was his first ever movie as an Assistant Director, and he gained a lot of experience from it.

After that, he wrote a script for a film called Ding Dong- Baby sing a song and which was later renamed as Bheja Fry. This movie is the comedy genre, and audience also admired his work very much. He after that worked again with Rajat Kapoor for the films ‘Mithya’ and ‘Mix Doubles’ as an associate director.
