Sourav Sarangi was born in India in 1964. He is a graduate of the Film and Television Institute in India. He has been active since 1988 as an editor, director of the tv movie, and director of the famous Bengal channel Aakash Bangla. He made his debut as a director in 1996 with the show ‘Tusu Katha.’ The show was about the tribes of West Bengal and Jharkhand. Â
He is also credited with the short film ‘Bilal,’ that depicts the tale of a boy raised through by visually impaired parents. This film has been screened at more than forty film festivals and has received eight awards.
