Syed Ahmed Afzal

Syed Ahmed Afzal is an Indian film director and screen writer born and brought up in New Delhi, India. He did his primary schooling from Don Bosco School, Alaknanda, New Delhi. Then Syed joined Gyan Bharati School. He was a student of the batch of 1995. He did Mechanical Engineering from Jamia Millia University, New Delhi. He said that he was never put under pressure by his parents regarding any career; instead, they asked him to do what he liked. He did not take them seriously and ended up wasting almost six years of his life. Later he decided to move to Mumbai. He even tried his hands in the trade business. After coming to Mumbai in 2008, he worked for television shows and also writing scripts, simultaneously. Syed is from a family of poets, historian, and teachers.

His father was a historian and his mother was a teacher. His grandfather Gulam Rabbani Taban, was an Urdu poet, and is the recipient of the Padmashree award for poetry. Therefore it was not a matter of astonishment when he took writing instead of engineering.. He did not go to any producer with the story, and he was just writing and waiting for an opportunity to make a film. He worked in few shows EPIC channel.
