Born in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, on November 18, 1901, Shantaram Rajaram Vankudre alluded to as Shantaram Bapu or V. Shantaram, was a Marathi Indian movie producer, filmmaker and performing artist. He is from a Marathi Jain family and, he wedded thrice. He first married to Vimla and, they had three kids Saroj, Prabhat Kumar, and Charusheela, mother of performing artist Sushant Ray a.k.a. Siddharth Ray.

Shantaram at that point wedded on-screen character Jayashree and, they had three youngsters Tejashree, Marathi movie chief and maker Kiran and performing artist Rajshree. His third spouse, performer Sandhya starred opposite him in Do Aankhen Barah Haath and also the courageous woman of his movies, for example, Sehra, Jhanak Payal Baaje, Jal Bin Machhli Nritya Bin Bijli and Navrang.

Shantaram began his movie profession doing odd occupations in Maharashtra Film Co. possessed by Baburao Painter Baburao Painter was born on 3rd June 1890. He was >> Read More... at Kolhapur. He went ahead to make his first appearance as an on-screen character in the silent movie Surekha Haran in 1921.

Shantaram affectionately known as Annasaheb had a vocation as a movie producer for nearly six decades. He was the early movie producers to understand that medium of cinema is a weapon of social change and utilized it effectively to advocate humanism on the one hand and uncover bias and bad form on the other. He had an unmistakable fascination with music.

He "ghost wrote" music for a considerable lot of his musical directorial, and took a dynamic part in the making of music. Some of his tunes needed to be practiced a few times before they get by V. There is a V. Shantaram Cultural Foundation and Motion Picture Scientific Research, offers different honours to movie producers, built in 1993. The grant is introduced every year on 18th of November. A postage stamp, bearing his resemblance, was discharged by India Post to respect him on 17 November of 2001.
