Manushi Chhillar is a model and beauty pageant titleholder, who was crowned as Femina Miss India in June 2017 and Miss World in November 2017. She was born in Rohtak, Haryana on May 14th, 1997. Her parents, Dr. Mitra Basu Chhillar is a scientist working at Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), and Dr. Neelam Chhillar works an associate professor and Department Head of Neurochemistry at the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences.

She went to St. Thomas School in New Delhi and was CBSE topper of English in 12th standard in All India. She cleared her NEET in the first attempt and is pursuing a medical degree from Bhagat Phool Singh Medical College in Sonipat. Chhillar is a well trained Kuchipudi dancer and has trained from renowned dancers. She also attended the National Drama School for some time.

Manushi took part in fbb Campus Princess, 2017 where she was crowned as one of the finalists from AIIMS during her college fest(Pulse) in December 2016. From thereon, she won fbb Femina Miss India Haryana, 2017. Chhillar further represented her state in annual Femina Miss India competition, where she won Miss Photogenic and was crowned the title of Miss India 2017.

Also, she earned the right to represent India in Miss World 2017. During Miss World competition, Manushi was a winner in Head-to-Head Challenge from Group Nine and was also the co-titleholder of Beauty with a Purpose Competition. Her project was Project-Shakti, which was initiated to create awareness about menstrual hygiene. She visited over 20 villages for her project and treated nearly 5000 women.

On November 18th, 2017, Manushi was crowned as Miss World 2017in Sanya, China by previous Miss World 2016, Stephanie Del Valle from Puerto Rico. She became the sixth Indian woman to win Miss World and the first one since Priyanka Chopra who won Miss World in 2000.

Manushi was welcomed by a huge crowd when she returned from Sanya on 26th November 2017. She became one of the celebrity speakers in 2017 Global Entrepreneurship Summit held in Hyderabad. Chhillar is announced as the representative for Anaemia Free Haryana.

Her Beauty with Purpose project - Shakti was given support of Rs.18 Crore by the government, and expansion was provided by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, by giving free sanitary towels for the girls in the government schools of Haryana.

She was also India’s top trending personality on Google search in 2017. Manushi has been awarded Proud Maker of India award by Six Sigma Healthcare Leadership Summit in New Delhi and CNN-IBN Indian of the Year, Special Achievement Award for winning Miss World.
