Amit Phatak is an Indian television actor who began his journey in the year 2000. He was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra to a humble middle-class family. He did his schooling from I.E.S King George and passed out in 1999 and went to pursue his dream a year later. Amit is a household face in Mumbai as he has appeared in more than double-dozen Marathi soaps and plays. Asha Abhilasha, Chal Lavkar, and Preeti Pari Tujavari are some of the few.

He also has a couple of Marathi movies to his credit. Although not prominent enough, he has also done a couple of Bhojpuri serials. He has also done some Hindi television serials as well. He played Mr. Birendra Patekar, the young guy who is fond of poetry, in the comedy serial Mrs. Tendulkar telecasted on SAB TV and ran for 202 episodes. He also did character roles in two more Hindi serials, Ye Wada Raha telecasted on Zee TV, and Kitni Mohabbat Hai aired on NDTV Imagine
